Discovery call

We scope the work together before anything starts. We look at how far behind you are, how many accounts need reconciling, and how complex your situation is. No surprises.

Access and intake

You give us read-only access to your bank accounts and your QuickBooks file (or we set one up if you do not have one). We review everything and create a cleanup plan.

The actual cleanup

We work through each month chronologically: reconcile accounts, correct categories, resolve duplicates, and make sure every transaction is accounted for and accurate.

Handoff and review

When the cleanup is complete, we send you a summary of everything we changed and why. You get clean financials for every period cleaned, and you know exactly where things stand.

Pricing and timeline

Scoped, not flat-rate

Every cleanup is scoped individually before we start. We price based on how many months need cleaning, how many accounts are involved, and what the complexity looks like, not a flat rate that overcharges simple situations or underestimates complicated ones.

Most cleanups take 4 to 6 weeks per year of history cleaned. You will have a clear quote and timeline before any work begins.

Most clients are surprised it is less than they expected.

After the cleanup, many clients move to monthly bookkeeping so the books never fall behind again. That transition is seamless because we already know your accounts inside and out.

Common questions

What people ask before they hire us

How far back can you go?

As far as you need. We have cleaned books going back 3 or 4 years. The further back, the more we scope it carefully, but there is no time limit on what we can fix.

Do I need QuickBooks, or can you work with what I have?

We use QuickBooks Online for all cleanup work. If you do not have it, we set it up for you as part of the project. If you have an existing file, we work directly in that.

Will my CPA need to do anything?

Not during the cleanup. We often coordinate with CPAs directly after the cleanup is done, especially if they need the corrected files for tax filing. We are comfortable talking to your accountant on your behalf.

What if I am embarrassed about how bad things are?

We hear this constantly. You would not believe the state some books are in when they arrive with us, and we do not judge any of it. The only thing that matters to us is fixing it. Just be honest on the call about where things stand and we will take it from there.
